March 14 to March 18

We are planning a field trip to Death Valley from March 14 to March 18. This is the height of the wild flower season and places to stay are becoming hard to find. Most of the participants have reservations already at the Furnace Creek Ranch; call 800-236-7916 for reservations. Most of us are staying in the cabins. There are also camp sites, RV parks, and the Furnace Creek Inn. If you want to go, get your reservation now! It may already be too late.

The exact itinerary will depend somewhat on weather and the wildflowers. There are more than enough photo opportunities to keep us busy the entire time: Zabriski Point at sunrise, Dante’s View, Bad Water, Scotty’s Castle, Rhyolite, the Paint Pots, the sand dunes at sunrise, a hike in Golden Canyon, maybe even a trip to the Racetrack, and so on, plus --- the wildflowers.
