Joyce Fish, a Biography
I was born and raised in Virginia. After high school I went to Berea College in Kentucky where I met and married my husband, Bill. While Bill was finishing his degree in Pharmacy at the University of Cincinnati, I attended night classes as the university and worked at Proctor and Gamble as a lab tech during the day.
After graduation we started west in our fifty-six Chevrolet and have been Southern California residents since then.
When the last of my three children became independent, I needed something to do in my second half. A neighbor, Norma Johnson encouraged me to join the South Bay Camera Club. Norma became my mentor, teaching me the fundamentals of photography.
Soon after joining the SBCC, I joined a photo essay group led by Irma Louise Rudd and this soon became my passion. I now facilitate a photo essay group at the camera club.
I have served on the board of the South Bay Camera Club for several years. I am a member of PSA and a charter member of NANPA.
As my photography skills have evolved, so has my love for the natural world and Nature Photography.
Through photography I have been able to travel extensively and have made many lasting friendships.
